Love Actually and Christmas go hand in hand. Aside from mulled wine, nothing makes you feel all warm and fuzzy quite like the sight of little Sam being carted away by airport security after getting a kiss from Joanna. But how many of you have forgotten that Love Actuallyactually has a Comic Reliefsequel?

Earlier this year, the nation rejoiced when Richard Curtis revealed he had been beavering away on a second instalment of the hit festive film. In aid of Red Nose Day, the movie director had got on the blower to his pals - namely Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson and Keira Knightley to name but a few - and convinced them to make the magic happen once more. And although not a full-length film, the 10-minute featurette did exactly that and managed to make us all feel all warm and fuzzy again. Actually. Set 13 years after Love Actually hit the big screen, the sequel catches up with most of our favourite characters to see where they are now. Prime Minister David (Hugh) is back in Number 10, having lost power of the country and now regained it, with Natalie (played Martine McCutcheon) still firmly by his side. Mark (Andrew Lincoln) returns with his cue cards, but when he knocks on Juliette's door (Keira), he uses them to introduce his now-wife.. err, Kate Moss. And Jamie (Colin Firth) and his wife Aurélia (Lucia Moniz) also have some exciting news of their own. But it's Sam, who is now 26 and living in New York, who steals the show. Played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, the character returns to London and visits his dad Daniel (Liam Neeson) on that bench. The Joanna (Olivia Olson) then appears, before she asks Daniel for Sam's hand in marriage. A post shared by Olivia Olson (@oliviaroseolson) on Sadly, Emma Thompson - who played Karen in Love Actually - declined the offer to appear in the sequel, as she felt it was too soon following the death of her co-star Alan Rickman. Alan, who died in 2016, played Emma's on-screen husband Harry and both she and Richard felt it was the right decision to leave her character Karen out of the script. This definitely means the sequel is tinged with some sadness, but it was all done for a good cause and is worth watching again this Christmas.
